PRESENTATION
Every winter, the best surfers in the world arrange to meet one another on this piece of coastline that the Hawaiian call "ten miles of miracles", that is the distance between Hale'iwa and Velzyland, the section where are found famous spots like Waimea, Off the Wall, Pipeline, and Sunset, to name but a few.
In winter time, depressions forming in open sea, off the Aleutian Islands, send on a regular basis swells that sometimes are over 25 feet high and even 30 feet high and over. Surfing in Hawai is a men's affair. From mid-November to Christmas time is held the "Triple Crown", which regroups three competitions and crowns the best surfer of the North Shore as well as the champion of the world. Spectacle and sensations guaranteed !
Those who are not hardcore surfers won't complain, for the North Shore has so many spots that are more quiet namely Chun's reef, Pidley's, Leftovers, Marijuanas, among others.
