PRESENTATION

The Rose Hotel, designed by Abbot Kinney in 1908, first earned notoriety as a debauched haven for his east coast cohorts against the vibrant backdrop of a stirring city teeming with eager exploration, menacing speculation, and impending prohibition (think “Boardwalk Empire” meets “Chinatown”).

Its reputation endured, with Charlie Chaplin, Jim Morrison and Dennis Hopper known to drop in over the years.

Today, Venice still brims with the same opportunistic dynamism; a fairground for hipsters/skaters/surfers,

and an artist and music/film industry hotbed. Together with a charming canal district, lively boardwalk, and soft-sanded beaches, it creates an indescribably unique experience.

One could never recreate Venice for it’s as much an anomaly as it is a mistake; but a brilliant mistake that is flourishing and becoming one of the most desirable locations in the country.

The distinctive vibe of Venice may not appeal to everyone but we love the colorfully motley characters floating past, and The Rose is our small piece of that charm.

Services

What can we offer ?

We, at The Rose, didn’t want to offer crappy mud-water, so we became the first hotel in Venice to offer Stumptown coffee and the finest French croissants from chef/owner Sharon Wang's Sugarbloom bakery.

If you're feeling grossed out with junk food, we have the best juice bar available to humanity a couple of blocks away; the immaculate "Moon Juice” which offers daily deliveries of pure cold pressed juice fasting for three or nine days.....or just one for breakfast!

Our resident health nut Eric will take you surfing, cycling, or on a multitude of sporty beach activities.

We offer beach cruisers at 10$ a half day or 20$ for a full day, to scoot around the streets of Venice,
or to make use of the twenty miles of coastal bike paths from Malibu to Manhattan Beach.

And when you arrive home, why not unwind with Kaoru or Evangeline, our resident masseuses, who offer a range of Shiatsu, pre-natal, reflexology, and Thai massage.

And you can take it from us......they're awesome
