Surfing in News Caledonia -
Situated at the North of the Tasman Sea, between Australia and New Zealand, New Caledonia stands proud in the middle of the biggest lagoon in the world.
Its coral belt extends over 700 km !
There are so many passes and bends in the reef that the few native surfers call it the Island of a thousand spots.
Southern hemisphere winters generate nearly continuous depressions in the Tasman Sea and send regularly swells onto the Caledonian reef.
