Hikkaduwa is a main surf destination and annually attracts surfers from Australia, UK, Japan, US and many more and is located 100km away from the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo.
There are 3 to 4 surf points with clear warm water in Hikkaduwa area. Although most of them are reef breaks, none of them are risky. All spots have a deep bottom & flat reef.

The wave size ranges from 2~7 feet during the season. The main point called "main reef" has "A" frame shape waves, which you can ride in both directions. Hikkaduwa is famous as a surfing area due to its laidback vibe and it offers both economy and luxury accommodation in close proximity to the surfing breaks.

if you hate to surf in crowded point you have an option!! We will take you to secret points where you can surf as you want. Every wave will be yours! Nobody to compete.
Most of these places are Secret.

In a short period of time you can reach to nearly 12 surfing points which give you different surfing experience from each other.
Mirissa, Midigama, Kabalana are some of the point. Wave height 3-8 feet.

Something else to do:
It's one of the rare places on the Island where you can make an "undersea tour"! In fact from November to April you are able to discover the undersea world. The International Diving School or the Underwater Safaris for exemple, propose tours in dispensent des cours de plongée sous marine, pour les néophytes ou les plus aguerris. De même, pour découvrir les coraux, des promenades sont organisées dans des bateaux à fond vitré.

AHANGAMA SURF ZONE : Le Cabalezia

Location : Cabalezia is located in the village of Ahangama on the increasingly popular south coast, less than half an hour’s drive from the historic town of Galle. A broad, sandy beach, where a gentle off-shore breeze can sometimes take edge of the hottest days, is ranked in the top three surfing spots in Sri Lanka.

Description : Cabalezia comprises seven standard bedrooms in the main building and 14 superior rooms in one and two-storey cabanas. This has long been a favored hotel for surfers, especially in the season from mid-October to mid-April, but recent extensions and improvements are now shifting the hotel a little more up market and attracting a wider spread of clientele. A lush, green lawn lined with palm trees envelopes the swimming pool and leads directly on to a long, sandy stretch of quiet beach.

Facilities: The hotel boasts a sizeable restaurant and two bars, used to host theme nights during peak season. Each double bedroom – complete with four-poster bed – has satellite television and mini-bar, and will be converted into a triple on request.
